Map of the UK
Use the arrow buttons at the top left of the map to scroll and the [+] and [-] buttons or slide control to zoom in and out. For finer scrolling click and drag any point on the map. Double click any point on the map to move it to the centre. This is especially useful when zooming in on a particular location. The zoom controls allow viewing all the way from the entire world down to individual houses, trees and other features more than a couple of metres in size (in [Satellite] mode).
To search the map, remember that the search is world-wide. So, for example, if you are trying to find the location of the London suburb of Finsbury, you need to enter "finsbury uk" in the search box. As the map is present-day only, you will not be able to find obsolete placenames.
If you wish to magnify part of the place found, double click the point you wish to be in the centre and then click the [+] button one or more times to zoom in to the required level. On the other hand, if you are searching for a large area, you may need to zoom out by using the [-] button.
